Imperial Date: 961M41

System: Segmentum Obscurus Solphax System
Planet: Imperial Classification Solphax Secundus
Tithe: Exactus Extremis
Population: 400 000 000

The Imperial hive world of Solphax Secundus has been listed for Exterminatus after the Tau 3rd Expansion seized it for their own good. A Space Wolf mission to reclaim the world has been designated, with a 20 year term to recover. After which the Adeptus Ministorum will enact its decree.
The serf population now work in less extreme conditions for the Tau Empire and it is believed that many are now converting from the Grace of the Emperor owing to these conditions. The Imperial Inquisition has decreed that the planetary governors will be put to death, along with all other heretics, upon recovery of Solphax Secundus.
Plenetary conditions are varied to the extreme. Many parts of the planet are arid and barren with oxygen levels highly toxic. Some parts of the planet still show scars from the Tau invasion and also the Age of Strife. These regions are comparable to Death Worlds. Urban build ups are either hive based cities or industrial metroploli.
The people are mostly God Fearing, with some converts to the Greater Good over the grace of Holy Terra. All have lived in blissful ignorance of the Astartes and revere them as Angels of the Imperium. Many tales, stories and legends exist of these angels, all themed on visions of the Emperors light coming to pull them from the dark.
Solphax Secundus has two moons, Gargon and Gargantuan. Both moons are in a fixed position and orbit at the same speed as the rotation of the planet giving the impression of them being in a fixed position in the night sky.

The events of the campaign take place 3 years after the Tau occupation

Campaign rules:
Ruined wasteland tiles count as Death World Rules. Additionally there should be plenty of dangerous terrain in game.

Marsh wasteland should be represented by plenty of rural based scenery for gaming purposes. This should be difficult terrain. If the new rulebook (Version 6) is available, players may use the special rules for terrain from there.
City and urban tiles should use City Fighting expansion and rules.
When opting to claim an unoccupied tile a Planet Strike mission should be attempted. Planetfall has already taken place, so any of the other missions except for planetfall and planet quake should be used. The winner automatically claims the tile.
If the tile is occupied the attacker may opt to carry out a planet strike as above, however, this should be combined with the type of battle normally selected from above (e.g. City fight). Planet Striking an occupied tile is dangerous at best. Roll on the following table before you choose the planet strike mission.

D6 Result

1 Disaster your orbital transports are attacked. The enemy may choose the tile you land on. You still planet strike, but it could be into a death world, or other hazardous terrain of your opponents liking
2 Communication glitch. You land target, but the enemy spots you coming. You only get 1D6 on your orbital bombardment.
3 Defender unaware. Your planet strike lands on the tile as planned
4 Defender unaware. Your planet strike lands on the tile as planned
5 Defender unaware. Your planet strike lands on the tile as planned
6 Sudden Impact. You gain +1 to your orbital bombardment roll.

Veterans rolls last for one game only. You must use them in your next game or not at all.
All players must create a Warlord for themselves. This will be done when we are all familiar with the Version 6 rules. Players will create and name them at the same games session.
Warlords may not be used in planet strike missions.
Otherwise they are used as desired. After each game of use they should roll on heroic deeds or injuries tables as appropriate.
