The 3 images below show a lot of glass vials and tubes on the Dark Eldar Grotesque.  This guide will explain how it is done in step by step stages.

If you want to know how I painted the flesh then watch this video.  The only difference I used was that instead of Pallid Wych Flesh I used White Scar mixed in equal parts with Rakarth Flesh and then made a glaze of Druchi Violet and placed it over parts for bruising.

Liquid in glass:

First of all pick the colour you want the fluid to be. Lets go for green
Paint the glass vial in the darkest of the colours - I chose Calliban Green.  This gives a nice rich depth for the fluid effect.
I generally choose a half to 3 quarter full tube so as to see clearly the effect.  As such I then thin Warpstone Glow down and paint the bottom half/3 quarters in this colour.  Pay careful attention to the angle of the glass.  Liquid is always painted level with the horizon.

Gradually add layers (thinned with Lhamian Medium) towards the level of the liquid.  The next layer I used was moot green.  The mixing this with Yriel Yellow in equal parts added another layer getting closer to the liquid level and further from the base (colour fading).
I then mix an equal part of White Scar to the mix and have a fine line at the level of the liquid.

Finally to give the effect of Glass paint a fine white line around the edge of the tube base or lid and very fine white lines down the length of the glass.

Lastly you will need to splash some Ard Coat on for the shiny effect (you should do this after you have sprayed the models with the Satin Spray)
